Could you be a Waterwise Associate?
Waterwise is looking for individuals with specialist skills, knowledge and experience in water efficiency to work with us to deliver research, training and water efficiency advice to businesses across the UK.
Who we are
Waterwise is the leading independent voice in the UK for using water wisely, for the benefit of people and the planet. Uniquely placed at the heart of the UK water efficiency community, our vision is that water is used wisely every day, everywhere, by everyone. We work with organisations, individuals and communities to lead and inspire change so that water is never wasted.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we actively support and challenge everyone we work with to aim high on water efficiency for the benefit of people, the environment and the economy.
Why become a Waterwise Associate?
As a Waterwise Associate, you will be supporting our mission to raise awareness of water scarcity across the UK, and educate, inspire and inform businesses on why they should – and how they can – use water wisely.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Are passionate about solving the water scarcity crisis and keen to support and represent Waterwise externally
- Have sound knowledge and experience of water efficiency practices
- Have experience of working on research, projects, or delivering training within the water industry
- Are strong communicators, with good interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including Waterwise customers
- Have strong organisational skills, including the ability to plan and work proactively to meet deadlines
- Are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, prioritise wellbeing, and share the Waterwise values
As a Waterwise Associate, you would be commissioned on a call-off basis at an agreed day rate of £500+VAT to represent Waterwise with customers and deliver Waterwise services. Commissions will be varied and offered only in line with demand, and you will always have the option of whether to accept or decline a commission. The types of commission we anticipate include:
- A half-day to deliver pre-prepared Waterwise water efficiency training in-person to an organisation – you will be paid travel expenses and provided with the training materials in advance
- A full day to develop new Waterwise training content, targeted to a specific industry sector or tailored to meet an organisation’s specific needs
- A half-day, full day or multiple day commission to support Waterwise research projects, this could include desktop literature reviews, interviews or data analysis (exact requirements and day rate amount will be agreed depending on project requirements)
- A full day or multiple day commission to develop water reduction targets and an action plan for an organisation, using a summary report from a previous water audit and consumption data supplied to you in advance
As a Waterwise Associate, you will be provided with full support from a key contact at Waterwise to ensure you are fully versed in who we are and our strategy and values, and able to represent our organisation appropriately.
If you think this could be you, please contact claire.spendley@waterwise.org.uk, including an up-to-date CV, a cover note on your specific skills and interests, and details of your availability.
