Sign up for Water Night and pledge to take part
Imagine waking up one morning and the taps run dry. No shower. No cup of tea. No flush of the toilet. Life stalls in an instant, because as our CEO Nicci Russell said in her recent TEDx talk: “Nothing happens without water.”
And yet, most of us barely notice our everyday water habits – leaving the tap running while brushing our teeth, rinsing dishes under a steady stream or overfilling the kettle.
Water Night is your chance to press pause on your water use, and level up your water-saving knowledge.
Like Earth Hour, it’s a symbolic event: one evening, one powerful action, endless impact. From 5 – 10pm on Thursday 22 October, households across the UK will turn off non-essential taps to reflect on just how much we rely on running water every single day. Sign up now and pledge to take part in Water Night!
This year’s theme – Tap Pause. Level Up – is about pausing our everyday routines, and rethinking our relationship with water. Levelling up our understanding of where it comes from, how much we use and why protecting this resource matters.
Across the country, iconic landmarks will light up in blue to show national support, uniting us in a shared call to action.

“Water is more than a resource to us – it is at the heart of what we do. As a business working with water every day, we have a responsibility to help protect it for the future. That’s why we’re proud to support Waterwise and Water Night: a simple but powerful initiative that encourages us all to think differently about how we use water and the part we can each play in safeguarding it.”
